Plants Plants Plants!!!

It's been a little over a year since I moved to an apartment in Seattle.

I have a huge south facing window and since the move, I've been experimenting different kinds of plants.

I got many cutting from my friends & co-workers with successful & failure results but now have more understanding of this mother nature.

Learning that plants need two essential needs, which is light and water, I didn't quite understand the meaning of the low light plants & medium light plants and etc...

There are still many types of plants that I struggle with but it is the process of learning I guess.

I've started out with soil plants mostly but then changed to LECA, then back to soil, and now I am settled with LECA again. I do have few plants that are still in soil and they are mostly succulents.

For the past summer while we had been locked down for the COVID19, I was able to do more planting and they have been thriving under a good care.

I am so worried for the gloomy weather to start in Seattle, so I've been researching for a good grow light.

Here is my beautiful Monstera Deliciosa which was in soil but transitioned into LECA, it been about 3 and a 1/2 months and it's finally looking great and taking off :)

I have one leaf that had turn this yellow color at the beginning when I was transitioning to LECA, so maybe due to lack of nutrients? I honestly don't know :O

It's such a joy to watch them shoot out a new leaf unfurl >.<

Pilea Love

Never saw this type of plant in my life :O
It's so pretty you just keep looking at it!
I am a little worried for the new leaves curling but I will leave it as is.
Hopefully it's a temporary thing :(
Top photo is today, bottom two is when I first got it.
It's in stunt mode now because I re-potted the plant when I first got it.
Hopefully it produce many babies :P

Semi Hydroponic?

I have finally started semi hydroponic for my plants!
Not sure if this will go well, but I like the idea that I don't have to mess with different types of soil.
I still have my soil plants but will limit to what I have so far.
I have done some research to see what types of plants I can have as semi hydroponic but seems like there isn't much types of plants that I like to do so.
I scored this baby Chinese Money Tree from Trader Joe's, so I put it in this cup to see how it goes.
I also converted my spider plant to semi hydroponic, it's been a week so far and it's doing really well!
Let see how it goes :P
